NEW ORLEANS REMEMBERS KATRINA
New Orleans Remembers Katrina With Style
from the Associated Press and Fox News.
President Bush was on hand in New Orleans to remember the anniversary of Katrina which killed over 1,800 people.
We recently returned from a Mission trip to Gulfport, Mississippi, and I can tell you that there are years of work yet to be done. We cooked in sweltering heat and ministered for hundreds of people, workers who are rebuilding the town.
Just as New York City will need another decade or so to recover from the World Trade Center disaster, so will Mississippi and Louisiana need many years to heal from their losses.
God Bless,
David Goad

Religions for Peace World Assembly, their press release, found on Yahoo,
World Religious Leaders Reject Violence and 'Hijacking of Religion' at Religions for Peace World Assembly
Are we being used by politicians? I thought this paragraph was appropriate as we near elections...
"The Religions for Peace World Assembly is a unique opportunity for religious leaders of all faith traditions to come together to reject the hijacking of religion," said Dr. William F. Vendley, Secretary General of Religions for Peace. "Whenever extremists attempt to hijack religion for violent ends, whenever politicians seek to exploit sectarian differences, and whenever the press mischaracterizes our faith traditions, people of faith, religious communities and religious leaders must stand up, speak out and take action. Religious communities are gathering at a critical time because religion has been hijacked by extremists, politicians and the media."

Hi Folks,
It's time to begin to tell you a bit about JESUS FOR HOPE, our activities, and our goals.
Jesus For Hope is an arm of the AMERICAN RENEWAL MOVEMENT, a non-denominational Christian Mission and Ministry group. We are a registered non-profit organization. Our home base is in Hawley, Texas, just outside Abilene, Texas.
So far this year we have been on mission trips to San Diego, CA, and Gulfport, Mississippi. I'm visiting England in September, and a longer trip to Mexico is planned in October of this year.
In the works is a mission trip to Russia in late 2007. We feel especially blessed that the Lord has given us these opportunities to spread his word.
Our Jesus for Hope blog is to keep you posted on our work. We'll post a slide show next week of photos from our Gulfport mission trip.
Soon we'll have a PayPal donation button on this site. Our new web person is busy getting all of our sites updated. Please visit our other sites as well:

The Jesus Video Site
We'll do our best to keep you posted on our trips as well as some relevent current news events. We are developing a directory of family values oriented sites for families who homeschool. As well, we'll be adding an educational and childsafe activities section. We'd rather help children and families find positive spirited places to visit while online.
Please, please, please, while you are visiting today, take a quick moment to click on FAVORITES then ADD, or BOOKMARKS then ADD, so that you can easily find us again. This website will be growing quickly in the next few months.
God Bless,
David Goad.
